This rug is born from the observation of the traditional garments worn by cante alentejano singers.
Talha does not replicate; it interprets: evoking how long, layered wool coats shape the body and the collective movement of the choir. Its composition reflects verticality, symmetry, and rhythm, like a deep voice resonating in unison with the landscape.
The Talha rug is entirely handmade on a traditional loom, guided exclusively by manual gestures.
This technique creates surfaces with firm structure and graphic detail, exploring subtle contrasts between planes and textures. The repetition of the warp gestures conveys an almost musical rhythm, visible in the regularity of the composition.
Made exclusively with undyed natural wool, Talha reflects the raw tonality of the region’s materials: wool as it is, before colour, chosen for its density and harmony with the surrounding landscape.
Its texture reveals itself with use, and the restrained palette allows light and shadow to define the design with discretion and depth.
