Born from observing cork, not as an industrial material but as the living skin of the cork oak.
The way it curls, peels and reveals the inside of the trunk is translated here into a design that is more sensation than form. Sobreo is a close and empathetic reading of the region’s most emblematic raw material.
The Sobreo rug allows sculpting fluid patterns with freedom of gesture.
The tufting Cut & Loop Relief technique favours the design of continuous surfaces, with organic rhythms that reveal themselves gradually. The fringe adds a note of controlled irregularity, extending the rug’s movement beyond its limits.
The choice of undyed wool accentuates the relief work and maintains coherence with the language of cork.
Its texture is compact, almost earthy, with nuances that shift depending on the light.
